Welcome to Clearinghouse

The Clearinghouse Project is rural southeastern Indiana’s regional, place-based response to our alarming poverty rates, rates that contribute to Indiana’s increasing poverty woes. The Clearinghouse Partners assert that a significant effect on the region’s poverty rates will require more than “business as usual.” A new model is needed, one that plays to the strengths of our rural culture; engages our local leaders; benefits our region’s employers; makes use of our geographic population center(s); and organizes our available resources into a regionally-based, client-centered one-stop shop.

The goal of the Clearinghouse Partners is to help low-income and families living in poverty make a positive, sustainable change in their lives and decrease their overall demand for assistance by enabling them to become self-sufficient.
